What is permanent
makeup?
It is the micro-implantation
of coloring pigments into the skin for aesthetic purposesto
enhance, contour and outline facial features. It is also a
valuable procedure for camouflaging scars, burns, skin pigmentation
variances caused by vitiligo, correcting some facial irregularities
or to further enhance facial rejuvenation and post-operative
treatments.
Is permanent makeup
similar to tattooing?
It has some of
the same qualities, yet it is very different. Only specialists
in micro-pigmentation can perform this procedure on the face;
tattoo artists cannot. Permanent-Line uses only the techniques,
tools and pigments that are specially designed for micro-pigmentation
procedures making it safe, sterile and painless. Permanent
makeup clinicians also use effective topical anesthetics that
are not allowed for use by tattoo artists. They also use instruments
that are much more delicate in design that provides natural-looking
results.
What are the coloring agents used in permanent makeup?
Permanent-Line uses safe, coloring pigments approved by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration. These have been gamma irradiated
that eliminates germ contamination. They're inert in nature
and don't interfere with the body's chemistry. Some permanent
makeup artists use other pigments containing iron oxide which
fade quickly to an "orangy" color. These can cause skin irritation
when undergoing a MRI exam and distort the image. Permanent-Line
pigments stay true to color, fading gradually to a lighter
shade.

What kind of healing
time is involved? Is any care required after the procedure?
Some swelling and redness can be expected for 24 hours following
the procedure. A cold compress helps to reduce any swelling
around the eye area. The treated area must be kept clean.
No makeup should be applied for several days. Some skin peeling
and lightening of the applied color is normal. If any additional
adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow-up
appointment.
Regular
routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure.
However, swimming or vigorous exercise should be avoided for
a few days. Normal healing times is between 4 to 7 days.
Is the procedure guaranteed?
Yes, we want our clients to be totally satisfied with the
results. As a result, we offer free follow-up treatments for
12 months following the procedure.
How is the specific desired look and shades of coloring determined?
Permanent-Line will schedule an extensive consultation with
one of our cosmetic enhancement clinicians regarding both
the exact contouring and coloring desired. Our clinicians
will recommend the specific treatment and shades to best complement
your own skin tones, hair color, wardrobe and lifestyle. Additionally,
our clinicians will demonstrate expected results by showing
you how contouring or outlining will look on you before actually
performing the procedure. Color is applied with a paintbrush
so the effect is very natural-looking.

How is Permanent-Line
different from other permanent makeup specialists?
Permanent-Line specializes in giving clients a truly natural
look. Our clients' safety and satisfaction is our top priority.
We use federally approved superior pigments as coloring agents.
Our micro-pigmentation instruments are patented, specially
designed just for us for safe and effective permanent makeup
application. We use fine brushes to artfully create the look
our clients seek. For instance, eyebrows are recreated with
fine lines simulating feathered hair and contoured into a
natural-looking arch.
Above
all, our entire staff of clinicians is committed to providing
the best service, care and desired results to every client.
Our expertise and care has earned us an outstanding reputation
with thousands of satisfied clients and recommendations by
physicians. Many of the area's leading plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists
and other doctors refer their patients to Permanent-Line.
How does the qualifications of Permanent-Line makeup clinicians
differ from other permanent makeup practitioners?
Each of our clinicians undergoes an extensive 6-month supervised
training program. They must perform a minimum of 100 supervised
procedures to receive their certification as a Permanent-Line
clinician. All of our clinicians work for Permanent-Line and
perform permanent makeup exclusively.
Other
practitioners combine their interest in permanent makeup with
other beauty treatments such as working with hair and nails.
They often receive their "certification" for permanent makeup
application by attending a one or two-day seminar with little
or no "hands-on" experience. They actually start their permanent
makeup experience practicing on their first clients and this
can greatly jeopardize the clientsą safety and satisfaction.
How long does permanent make-up last?
Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation
procedures. This varies among individuals and is dependent
on the specific shade used in the procedure. Most colors last
3 to 5 years, although some may not fade for as long as 10
years. Periodic touch-ups are recommended to maintain the
desired look. You can also choose to change colors of your
permanent makeup. For instance, a nude lipcolor can be modified
to a peachy pink; or a brown eyeliner to a black or navy hue.

Is the procedure
covered by insurance for restorative procedures?
Depending on your health plan, some procedures are reimbursable.
i.e. if a scar is the result of an accident or cancer treatment.
On average, how much does a procedure cost?
There's a range for some of our fees depending on how much
time is needed.
